Cartmel Village is around 3 miles north-west of Grange-Over-Sands, nestled close to the River Eea, and just around 1 mile from the A590,  with links to Ulverston, Kendal, Dalton & Barrow.  Parking in the village is provided by a number of bays directly outside the Priory, and by a large services pay and display car park on the edge of the Racecourse.

During large events and race-days, vehicle access to the village is often restricted, when the rear entrance to the Racecourse is used to bring visitors via the main car park.
