Businesses operating within a three-mile radius of Cartmel Village are invited to join The Guild of Cartmel Traders, an established group representing and supporting the local trading community.

The Guild provides member businesses with a presence on the Cartmel Village website and works collectively to promote Cartmel as a destination for residents and visitors alike, including through coordinated website content and social media activity. This comprehensive strategy includes multi-platform social media management, data-driven content creation, and high-end drone videography to keep the village’s digital presence modern and engaging. Membership reflects a commitment to the village, its character, and its independent businesses.
The Guild is chaired by Colin Burke, who oversees membership and Guild-led initiatives.

Membership & Subscription

Guild membership is offered on an annual basis:

Small business: £75 per year
Large business: £95 per year

In addition to standard membership, Guild members may also have the opportunity to buy into specific projects or initiatives undertaken by the Guild throughout the year.
